Westmeria Counselling

Westmeria Counselling service is a voluntary organisation, serving the local community. It was established in 2003 to help people in crisis, or just in need of support, with a particular emphasis on those suffering from depression. Westmeria Counselling is based in Bickley and their counselling team takes on clients from a wide range of surrounding areas including Bromley, Penge, Beckenham, Chislehurst, Mottingham, and Petts Wood. The team offer a unique service, requiring no set fee from clients for counselling sessions provided. The charity was chosen by Jen Norris and Richard Piddock, our partner from Blackheath and Mark Burgess, Regional Director of Lettings presented the cheque to Westmeria Counselling in May.

St Christopher’s Hospice

St Christopher’s Hospice was founded in 1967 and have branches in Bromley and Sydenham and exists to promote and provide skilled and compassionate palliative care of the highest quality. Their vision is of a world in which all dying people and those close to them have access to the care and support they need, when and wherever they need it. Every year the charity provides care and support to over 6,000 people across South East London, both at home and in the hospice. The charity was chosen by Mr and Mrs O’Connor and on the 23rd May Bob Neill, parliamentary candidate presented a cheque to St Christopher’s Hospice at our Chislehurst Branch.

Ben's Fund (Why Not Run)

To launch the jdm Year of Giving, jdm supported the ‘Why Not Run’ event at Farringtons School in Chislehurst on Sunday 7th May. The day was incredibly successful and extremely well attended, jdm donated over 1,000 bottles of water to the event, along with goody bags. jdm staff were on hand making badges with children, marshalling the course and even running in the adult 5k race! The day ended with Jeremy de Maid presenting a cheque for £500 to the charity. Everyone had lots of fun and the event itself raised over £6000 for the charity. A huge thank you to our staff for their support on the day.

Bromley & Lewisham Mind

Bromley & Lewisham Mind works alongside people with mental health needs and dementia in the London Boroughs of Bromley and Lewisham, to improve their quality of life. As part of jdm’s year of giving Bromley & Lewisham Mind was presented with a cheque for £500, 0n Monday 12th June at the JDM Estate Agents Petts Wood office. The cheque was presented to Mike Ricketts and Gill Dean from the Bromley & Lewisham Mind Fundraising Committee by Mark Burgess (jdm), Kelly-Anne Robson and Jeremy de Maid (jdm).

Foal Farm Rescue Centre

Foal Farm Animal Rescue Centre is a registered charity based at Biggin Hill in Kent. Its aim is to take in as many sick, distressed and unwanted animals as possible and restore them to health and happiness. On 23rd July 2017 jdm attended their Country Festival where we had our popcorn machine, candyfloss machine, lollipops and waters as well as a badge making station for the children. All profits made on the stall went to Foal Farm along with a £500 donation.

Demelza Hospice Care

Demelza provides the best care and support for seriously ill babies, children, young people and their families, across East Sussex, Kent and South East London. This local charity was chosen by Mr Kenwood and on the 26th July Jeremy de Maid and Mark Burgess presented a cheque to Demelza at their Eltham location.

Petts Wood Playgroup

Petts Wood Playgroup provides pre-school education for children with special needs from birth to five years. The special needs include physical disabilities, developmental delay, behavioural and social problems that can cause difficulties for children and parents alike. On 7th September 2017 Jeremy de Maid met with the team and presented the cheque for £500.

The Maypole Project

The Maypole Project provides a lifeline of support to children with complex medical needs and their whole family. They aim to relieve and help preserve the mental and physical well-being of children and young people who have complex medical needs and disabilities and to support their family members as well as others who are affected by their suffering and, in certain cases, bereavement. Our promise to be alongside families every step of the way, creating a package of emotional support tailored to their needs. We offer families counselling, respite, outings, child therapies and advice and advocacy.

Bromley Borough Foodbank

Bromley food bank provide three days’ nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people who are referred to them in crisis. They are part of a nationwide network of foodbanks, working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK. 

Jdm are pleased to donate £500 to this fantastic local charity chosen by our Vendor Mr Parkes. Mark Burgess and Ryan Campbell presented a cheque to Jackie and her wonderful team on 10th October 2017.

Greenwich & Bexley Hospice

Greenwich & Bexley Hospice are the foremost provider of specialist palliative care to the London boroughs or Bexley & Royal Greenwich. Their staff and volunteers care for adults with a wide variety of chronic and terminal conditions. On 13th October our Partner Richard Piddock and Regional Director Mark Burgess attended their hospice to donate £500 ( chosen by our Vendor Mr Wallis) and some cakes for their cake sale.

Magpie Dance

Based in Bromley, at The Churchill Theatre, Magpie Dance is an inclusive contemporary dance company that has carved out a national reputation for its exciting and inspiring approach to inclusive and creative dance. Magpie Dance’s mission is: ‘Unlocking individual potential and ability, to be at the forefront of dance for people with learning disabilities”. Founded in 1985 by Artistic Director Avril Hitman BEM, Magpie Dance has grown for 30 years from a single inclusive dance session for 45-minutes weekly to an acclaimed organisation delivering high quality dance experiences both nationally and internationally.

Jeremy de Maid and Mark Burgess presented a cheque to Magpie Dance at our Petts Wood branch on 23rd October 2017 for £500.

Battersea Dogs & Cats Home

Battersea Dogs & Cats Home have 3 centres and their aim is to never turn away a dog or cat in need of help, caring for them until their owners or loving new homes can be found, no matter how long it takes. Battersea Dogs & Cats home take care of over 7,000 dogs and cats every year.

Mark Burgess, Sam Wyatt and Nicola Bellward visited the Brands Hatch centre on 7th November to meet the staff, volunteers and some of their furry friends. jdm are proud to be able to have donated a cheque for £500.

The Primrose Centre is located in Farnborough near The Princess Royal Hospital. The centre offers help, support and therapy to those diagnosed with breast cancer.

Threshers Day Nursery

Threshers Day Nursery is a charity run nursery in the heart of St Mary Cray. It was opened 45 years ago to provide affordable childcare for local families.

They provide high quality childcare for children aged between 12 months and 5 years old and support the children's growth and learning, while being in a loving, caring and nurturing environment. 

On Wednesday 29th November Mark Burgess, Lisa de Maid and Jeremy de Maid presented a cheque for £500 along with some Children's books.
