The closest rail link to the Parks is Orpington station. There are extremely frequent, direct services to London terminals including London Bridge, Charing Cross, Victoria and Cannon Street as well as services southwards to Sevenoaks and Tunbridge Wells.  


The area is served by three Transport for London buses, the 358 to Orpington and Crystal Palace via Bromley, the R4 to Locksbottom and St Pauls Cray via Orpington, and the R8 to Orpington and Biggin Hill via Downe. It is also served by the Arriva Kent bus 402 to Bromley and Tunbridge Wells via Sevenoaks.

The general area is well served with a range of schools in the state and private sectors. Please note that catchment areas and/or entrance examinations may apply. 

Darrick Wood Schools provide primary education through to secondary and property within the area is in high demand. There are well-regarded primary schools including Farnborough Village, Tubbenden and Warren Road and two highly ranked selective state secondary schools in St Olave’s and Newstead Wood. 

There is also a wide selection of excellent schools in the independent sector to choose from including: Bromley High School for Girls; Eltham College; Whitgift School; Sevenoaks School; Royal Russell; and Radnor House to name but a few. 


Set behind gates Keston and Farnborough Parks benefit from wide, tree lined roads, with the privacy and tranquillity you would expect from such an exclusive estate. The properties generally all benefit from larger proportions and were originally built mainly in the 1930s, however, many have been substantially extended or re-built.

Going Out

There is a variety of exceptional restaurants, pubs and other eateries in and around the Parks. On the doorstep are Chapter One and Cyprianis which are both popular places to enjoy fine dining. Herbert’s is situated overlooking picturesque Keston Common. Ye Olde White Lion on Farnborough Common, which was established in 1626 and one of the oldest in the borough; and the British Queen are pubs which are close by. Further afield, there is the highly regarded Bo Peep. The quaint villages of Downe, Cudham and Westerham are all visitor destinations in themselves and offer some delightful independent shopping retailers.


Recreational Facilities

  • There are sports centres in Bromley, Orpington and Sevenoaks and an indoor pool and library complex in Biggin Hill. Private sports centres in the area include Virgin Active, Nuffield Health and David Lloyd.  
  • There are many private clubs covering football, rugby, hockey, cricket, tennis and several golf courses to choose from including High Elms Golf Course, Knockholt Golf course, Sundridge Park and Westerham Golf Club.  
  • High Elms park offers 250 acres of countryside and woodland to explore and is located on the ridge of the North Downs. The park offers a number of facilities including a nature centre, ice well and visitor centre. The site is also home to a sustainable education centre which houses two large multi-functional rooms for community, business and educational use and a café.  
  • The scenic landscape of the North Downs with its waymarked footpaths is a delight for keen walkers
