Stamp Duty cut for First Time Buyers!

Good news for first-time buyers after the announcement from the Government on 22nd November 2017, to abolish stamp duty for properties up to £300,000.

Stamp duty to be abolished immediately for first-time buyers purchasing properties worth up to £300,000

For those in London the first £300,000 of the cost of a £500,000 purchase by first-time buyers will be exempt from stamp duty, with the remaining £200,000 incurring 5% stamp duty charge

‚ÄčIt is estimated that 95% of all first-time buyers will benefit, with 80% not paying stamp duty

Mark Hayward, Chief Executive, NAEA Property mark comments on the stamp duty reforms announced in the Autumn Budget:

"The announcement today from the Government to abolish stamp duty for first-time buyers will have a positive impact on the market. It's a smart move to ensure the dream of homeownership for young people can become a reality and will help buyers across the UK, including London and the South East where property prices are higher."

  • World Class Service

'The customer service received from JDM is world class. Thank you to you and your team for all the support you provide, letting a property is stressful enough, add being aboard!! But working with your team, enables me to feel supported and a lot calmer.'

  • First Time Buyer

It was always going to be difficult purchasing a house as a first time buyer. Andrew and the team were so helpful and made the process so much easier than anticipated. Would highly recommend their services!

  • Couldn't Recommend Highly Enough

Let my property with JDM for 2 years after I moved abroad, they were very helpful throughout the whole process, kept me informed, inspected the premises regularly and managed the whole arbitration process (achieving a positive result for me) when there was a deposit dispute after the tenants moved out. I've just sold the property through them and, again, couldn't fault them. They did a great job of keeping me updated, liaising with the buyers regularly, answering my queries promptly and ensuring everything went as smoothly as it could. Felt they really cared about me and acting in my best interests.
